The 5,000 square feet red brick Historic Hydro-Electric Plant no longer produces power but now forms the centerpiece of the 17,000 square feet Aspen City Shops complex which services and houses the impressive array of snow removal equipment which keeps the resort functioning through all kinds of weather. The new buildings emulate the historic brick and metal roofs and create a "compound" which acts as a well-appointed neighbor in its residential neighborhood.
