Annabelle Inn, Aspen, Colorado
The Annabelle Inn (formerly the Christmas Inn) was an early Aspen ski lodge approx. 50 years old. The existing lodge was in a state of despair, not on the City of Aspen’s historic designation list, but within the Main Street Historic Preservation Commission review. The building could have been totally demolished and replaced with a new lodge. The new lodge could have been condominimized to make the project more economically feasible. However, the Owners wished to maintain the scale and operation of a traditional ski lodge which was to be run by their family.
