Waterplace Affordable Housing, Aspen, Colorado
Developed around a crescent-shaped open space encircled by a pedestrian promenade, these 23 units of owner-occupied housing on a "western" theme each has a front porch (big enough for sitting) enfronting the open space. Board and batten siding, cedar shingles and corrugated metal materials recall the early heritage of Colorado and complete the western theme. "Green" building systems, materials, and technology are integrated throughout the project.
