Rubey Park Transit Station, Aspen, Colorado
This main bus transit center is centrally located in downtown Aspen, near the site of the previous historic train depot, which served this silver mining town in the late 1800’s. It serves as a gathering and distribution point for winter and summer visitors and commuters to all points of the Roaring Fork Valley. The building’s forms and materials respond to Aspen’s architectural historic context, while including contemporary, open glazing areas and a playful handling of materials.
